Key Findings

The clearest result is not that one hairstyle dominated. Body Wave ranked first with 882 generations, but it represented only 8.8% of the sample. Recorded generation activity was distributed across a broad range of textures, lengths, colors, and silhouettes.

Interpretation

The dataset records what was generated, not why. It does not contain a survey of intent. Three interpretations are useful as hypotheses, not measured motivations:

  • Familiar transformations: Body Wave, Loose Wave, Layered Straight, Butterfly Cut, and brunette shades make a visible change while remaining recognizable directions.
  • Structural comparisons: bobs, lobs, pixies, and bixies change the silhouette and how much of the face or neck is exposed.

Dimensions and denominators

The report groups events by named hairstyle, style family, length range, broad color group, and explicit bang/fringe style. Hairstyle, family, length, and color shares use 10,000 as the denominator. Bang-style shares use the 1,764 events with an explicit bang or fringe label.

Privacy

The analysis uses aggregate selection counts. Uploaded photos, individual faces, personally identifiable characteristics, and inferred demographics were not included.
